One of the main reasons I would even consider replacing Pidgin would be if a messenger can use the Windows Live Messenger webcam. Now, according to the Wikipedia comparison of instant messaging clients, some of the messengers here CAN support that, but I've yet to find out how and if they're on this list, probably never will.
Well, I like the installer for Miranda IM a lot better, although it opened up a donation page. I absolutely hate when websites do stuff I don't want them to. Like open.
I never figured out how to make it support webcam for WLM, it started off by asking me a bunch of approve or deny questions, the UI looks worse, I'm not even dealing with this thing, it just looks like a piece of shit and I have no reason to spend more than 5 minutes with it.
Ayttm is already giving me shit just trying to log into MSN. Looked online. Doesn't support MSN webcam apparently.. UI is absolutely fucking terrible. Not worth my time.
Jclaim was just horrible in every way. It looked unfriendly. It felt unfriendly. It had errors in the less than 5 minutes I used it. It didn't have a good UI in that it looked neither good nor user friendly. It didn't seem to have webcam support. Didn't use it long enough to see if it had FB support or any sort of ninja mode. I don't care if it does. I hate it so much.
Jitsi looked like it was supposed to be more like Skype and less like MSN. Again, didn't like the UI, no webcam support that I can see, no ninja mode, not user friendly.
