Trying Digsby and I'm already not liking a few things. Now, of course, I understand, free programs need to make money for their makers somehow; I just really don't do the whole advertising thing, sorry...and especially don't force it on my status and everything...I'm a big fan of software NOT doing stuff that I don't want it to do, especially when it comes to making noise. So, of course, my very first thing I had to do was go to preferences and disable any hint of "Hey, I might make a noise some time in the future" and also have it so that I can go all Ninja-mode.
The very first thing, a very minor and common thing, is that, during the install, Digsby wanted to rape my homepage and set this and install that and I was like, "Fuck no, leave my homepage alone." Another small disappointment is that you have to sign in to Digsby, and THEN it signs into YOUR shit, as opposed to in Pidgin, you just start it up and it signs into whatever accounts you want. However, I suppose that would be helpful if you install the portable version. Yeah. The installer has a portable version option. That's pretty nifty.
It seems to want to snap to the upper-right corner of my screen, which is nice since that's where I like keeping the top right corner of my IM client and windows...my new message indicator is a flashing tab icon. That I DON'T like. Ninja mode on Digsby isn't quite so ninja...
